written by ROBERT BRUINEWOUD
GENRE: thriller (with fantasy elements) – SHORT, 9-pages
LOGLINE:
After being fatally wounded by a local bully while in her twin-sister’s body, a young woman realises the body-swaps she and her sister have been experiencing were not random, but orchestrated by her narcissistic twin.
SYNOPSIS:
A Young Woman suddenly finds herself in the body of her (non-identical) twin Sister. Moments after she realises what has happened, she is attacked and left for dead by a local rich girl and her gang.
Regaining conscious, she struggles back to her home. There she discovers the wounds are probably fatal, and so prepares for her Sister’s return, covering up signs of the damage done to her Sister’s body.
Her Sister returns and feigns surprise and horror and what has happened to the young woman. The Young Woman struggles to downplay the seriousness of the wounds, and manages to convince her Sister that she’s okay. Relieved, the Sister leaves her to make some tea. Out of sight, the Sister performs a ritual, swapping their souls back into their original bodies.
On finding herself in her own body, the Young Woman hurries back to her sister, who is shocked to discover how badly injured she is. Desperate, the Sister struggles to feet to perform the ritual and return to the Young Woman’s body, but the Young Woman prevents her.
Sad that the two couldn’t be friends, the Young Woman holds her hand as the Sister dies.
